Family Support Network

Dyslexia Midlands Family Support Network is a Kenilworth-based community group dedicated to supporting families of children with dyslexia.

Parents Support Group MeetingOnce a month (usually the fourth Monday of the Month), there is a support group for  parents and carers of children with additional needs (e.g. dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, ASD, ADD/ADHD)

Upcoming 2020 dates:
27th Jan, 24th Feb, 23rd March, 27th April, (not May Half-Term), 22nd June

Held 8:30-9:30pm in the ‘Small Upstairs Room’ at the Kenilworth Centre, Abbey End Car Park, Kenilworth, CV8 1QJ – just turn up.

1st March: Help Your Child Beat Exam Stress
The wonderfully warm and practical psychologist Dr Helen Andrews (based in Henley) offers strategies.   SOLD OUT! We are hoping to repeat the success of this with a similar talk in May, please send me an email ( if you would like to be notified about this.  

8th March: Easy Ways to Boost Memory, Focus and Reduce Anxiety
Be guided through the science by extremely knowledgeable and experienced medical herbalist Lizzie Foulon (based in Knowle).   Book now

15th March: Effective Revision
This fun, practical talk combines what a century of research has taught us, with how this needs to be tweaked for your dyslexic child’s different memory, processing and neural wiring.   Book now

29th March: Would extra time, reader, scribe, laptop etc. help your child?
Holly Swinton simplifies the weird world of exam access arrangements into two simple steps:
1) Decide what would help your child: Extra time, use of a computer, rest breaks, enlarged papers, reader, dictation software, reading pens, prompter, room to themselves, being able to speak aloud, predictive text software, scribe?
